Photography and Digital Imagery - Photoshop

The 5' tall screens were created with
Year 6, Quay Primary School, Bridlington: Theme: Buildings

Photography shoots with children, in two contrasting locations. Using their images they manipulated with effects and layers to include themselves into the finished sections. Together we designed the layout of each panel to form 3, 5’ x 2’ stained glass affect, sections to create a free standing screen. The images were printed out onto acetate, cut to form design shapes and sandwiched between 2 pieces of polyurethane sheets. Lead was applied to the design. I made the frames out of wood, cardboard tubes and tissue paper then sprayed with stone effect paint.

The light box was a commissioned piece for Garton on the Wolds Primary School, East Yorkshire. Using Water as the main theme, the children made water like monoprints and drawings of sea creatures, these I scanned into photoshop and created a digital Ocean after manipulating them with a variety of interesting effects. To add a humourous and quirky slant to the whole thing I took photographs of all the children and morphed their faces into their sea creatures. The light box measures 40cm high x 180cm long x 20cm deep specially made for the schools reception area.
